Transit worker allegedly killed by felon on electronic monitoring despite repeated probation violations
A CTA janitor was allegedly stabbed and killed at a Chicago Green Line train station over a fare dispute. The murder suspect was wearing an ankle monitor with probation violations.

A murder suspect accused of stabbing and killing a transit worker outside a train station in a daytime attack allegedly had prior run-ins with the law.
Chevazz Campbell, 37, is accused of stabbing and killing Julian Mobley, 41, a husband and father who worked for the Chicago Transit Authority as a janitor, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
It happened at the Damen Green Line station just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

Chicago Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that Campbell also allegedly robbed the victim and was arrested hours after the attack.
In a statement, the Amalgamated Transit Union said in part: "ATU Local 308 Brother Julian Mobley, a CTA Janitor, was tragically killed while trying to stop an attack on a fellow member over a fare dispute. He died a hero."
Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308 President Pennie McCoach said in a joint statement that the problems with the electronic monitoring system "could not be clearer," FOX 32 reported.
"We need a permanent legislative solution to close these gaps, strengthen accountability, and better protect people like Julian, who deserve to be safe on the job and return home to their families after work," the statement read.
